Choice 1 - Nursing
I'm interested in the Dental, Pre-Med & Nursing Magnet program with my focus being on nursing. The nursing field interests me because I would like to combine my career with my compassion for helping people.
As a kid, I broke my toe and had my first emergency room visit. While there, nurses helped me in the lobby and made me feel comfortable so that I didn't focus on the pain I was experiencing. They made sure I got helped quickly and I was sent home with a boot that I wore for over a month. This experience gave me a new outlook on the nursing field and made me want to know what it would be like to be in the medical field.
A career in Nursing
The ability to contribute to saving lives and assisting people through illnesses and injuries is appealing to me. My future goals include joining the military and using it as a source to pay for college. I want to become an emergency room nurse. Central would be a great way to help me work towards achieving this goal. I like that the nursing program will allow me to get certifications including becoming CPR and First Aid certified, a CNA as well as take college classes and shadow nursing professionals. Also, studying nursing in high school will also help me avoid injuries while playing sports, and learn and proper ways to recover if I'm ever faced with an injury.
